Our Book Fair is Coming! April 13-20 The whole school is excited about our upcoming Book Fair. An amazing selection of books is headed our way! At the Book Fair you will find the latest and finest titles for kids, as well as books of interest to parents. Mark your calendar for our Report Card Pickup on April 18. You can contribute books to your child's classroom library. The Book Fair is a great way to get everyone excited about reading. See you there! |

Henry Students Go to Regional Science Fair
Omar Herrera, Samantha Cantu and Kalsum Afzal, 6th grade winners of the Henry School Science Fair, participated in the Middle School Regional Science Fair at Northeastern Illinois University this past Friday, January 13th. Each of them received an Honorable Mention Citation.. |

Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
Students in grades 2 thru 6 have started taking the ISAT exams, exams will go through March 16, 2012. We need all of your support to ensure that our students are ready for these exams. Daily attendance is very important for your children to continue to learn well and demonstrate growth at the end of year. Please make sure that students are here every day and on time.
Congratulations to all of the January students of the month. We appreciate the hard work and dedication of all of our students. Please help us motivate your children to strive to be Student of the Month. It is a wonderful achievement.
Thank you to all of the families that were in attendance at our community meeting concerning the extended day. We are always happy to see the support and participation of the community and parents. We will be sending a flyer for our next extended day community meeting very soon. Please attend and see how we are planning to use the extended day for next year based on the input from our community stakeholders. It will be affecting all of us so please make sure to attend.
Don’t forget! We will have LSC elections this spring. Elections will be held on Wednesday April, 18, 2012. If you are interested in being a member of the LSC, please pick up a nomination form in the main office. The LSC Forum will be Tuesday, March 27th at 4:30p.m.
Spring Break will be the week of April 1st to April 6thh. Classes will resume Monday, April 9th.
If your child is entering preschool, kindergarten or sixth grade next year, please schedule an appointment with their physician. Students entering these grades will need an updated physical exam. Please keep this in mind. Updated physical exams will be due by May 1st, 2012.
